Copy Trading Pro: Profit Sharing Explained
    bybit2024-07-03 10:39:29

As a Pro Master using Copy Trading Pro on Bybit, you can share a certain percentage of the net profits earned by each Investor who holds a share of your strategy. Conversely, as an Investor, you need to share a percentage of your position profit with your Pro Master.

    Key Points

    • Profit Sharing Ratio: Pro Masters can set their profit sharing ratio up to a maximum of 30%.

    • Timing of Profit Sharing: Profit sharing is calculated and credited to the Pro Master’s Funding Account after the Investor’s redemptions and strategy termination.

    • Calculation of Profit Sharing: The profit sharing amount depends on the NAV (Net Asset Value) at the time of subscription and redemption, as well as the profit sharing ratio in effect at the time of shares redemption.

    • Withdrawal Profit: Pro Master can withdraw the profit to the Main Account’s  Funding Account. However, withdrawing profits will not be supported during the redemption fund settlement period.

    Examples of Profit Sharing Calculation

    Scenario 1: Profitable Investment

    Strategy Creation:

Day 1: The Pro Master sets a 10% profit-sharing ratio for the strategy of the BTCUSDT contract.

    Initial Investment:

Day 6: Investor A purchases 5,000 shares at an NAV of 1.1. The net profit earned from these shares will contribute a 10% profit share to the Pro Master.

    Change in Profit Sharing Ratio:

Day 8: The Pro Master changes the profit-sharing ratio to 30%. The contribution of net profit earned from Investor A’s shares will change from 10% to 30% profit share ratio to the Pro Master.

    Additional Investment:

Day 13: Investor A purchased another 2,000 shares at an NAV of 1.2.

    Redemption and Profit Sharing Calculation:

Day 20: Investor A redeems 7,000 shares at an NAV of 1.3. The calculation for profit sharing is as follows:

    Profit Sharing Calculation

Formula = Shares × (NAV on Redemption Settlement Date − NAV at Time of Subscription) × Current Profit Sharing Ratio

    • 5,000 shares subscribed at NAV of 1.1

    • 2,000 shares subscribed at NAV of 1.2

    • Profit Sharing = {[5,000 x (1.3 − 1.1)] + [2,000 × (1.3 − 1.2)]} × 30% = 360 USDT

The Pro Master will receive a total profit share of 360 USDT from Investor A’s redemption.

    Scenario 2: Investment with loss

    Additional Investment:

    • Day 13: Investor A purchases another 2,000 shares at an NAV of 1.4.

Assuming the share NAV on redemption day is 1.3, Investor A will incur a loss on the 2,000 shares subscribed on Day 13.

    Profit Sharing Calculation

    • 5,000 shares subscribed at an NAV of 1.1

    • 2,000 shares subscribed at a NAV of 1.2

    • Profit Sharing = {[5,000 x (1.3 − 1.1)] + [2,000 × (1.3 − 1.4)]} × 30% = 240 USDT

In this situation, the Pro Master would receive a total profit share of 240 USDT.
